Eric de Kolb was born and studied in Vienna, which he forever missed after having to escape from Nazi Germany. When Germany took over his beloved Austria and city of Vienna in1940, he left for to America.
He settled in the great city of New York, which has provided Eric de Kolb with endless and timeless opportunities to bring alive and present to the world his genius of creating fashion, art, design and furniture. He also studied in Paris -ECOLE DE BUZARD. He was employed by Helena Rubenstain, creating designer packaging for perfumes and jewelry He was a winner of the Welsh Award for two subsequent years and his first exhibit of miniature sculptures was a sell-out.
Beside living in New York, he and his second wife lived in Island of Capri, in Italy where their house still stands. The estate will continue to bring works of Eric de Kolb to the attention of the world in which we live today, where all things and people are expendable, but the works of Eric de Kolb prove timeless and priceless.
